The LMI Collegium and CSR

Social responsibility at the heart of the mission of the three components of the Lorraine Management Innovation Collegium

Applied to the corporate
world, the issue of sustainable development is a real strategic and management issue. The same applies to the Social and Environmental Responsibility, today questioned and expected by companies. Organisations really need to redefine their values and action plans according to the social and ecological changes that affect them. It is in this sense that the Collegium LMI, aspires to accompany its three components in this reflection and approach.

Indeed, the IAE Metz, the IAE Nancy and the IDMC agree on the interest of giving students the necessary agility and the keys to understanding a rapidly changing professional world. The project of the LMI Collegium is therefore part of an international context and in a renewed relationship with the economic world. Ethical management and the consideration of sustainable development are the
best guarantees of a sustainable performance of the company. But also, the components also agree on the fact that today’s society expects managers to go beyond the framework of their organisation. The manager of tomorrow is not only respectful of laws and regulations, but must be a pioneer, bearer of personal and societal aspirations. Our belief is that our approaches can guarantee the involvement of all stakeholders in modern organisations for collective well-being.

Dialogue with stakeholders

To do this, the LMI Collegium relies on all its stakeholders to structure its social responsibility strategy: it is defined on the basis of consultation with its students, teachers-researchers, administrative staff and external partners. This sharing with its stakeholders takes place among other things through staff days where the SD&RS (sustainable development and social responsibility) objectives are presented but also with participatory workshops. Likewise, through more advanced advisory tools in order to best identify the levers for improvements and thus best prioritise this approach of “Sustainable Development and Social Responsibility”. Following these consultations with the staff of the notions of “Well-being at work”, of “Student-staff collaboration” seem to be at the heart of their concerns.

The “DD&RS” approach and its objectives

Each component of the LMI Collegium is therefore committed to a CSR approach to increase its influence and continue the process of continuous improvement of its practices with an objective of excellence. Indeed, through this “Sustainable Development & Social Responsibility” approach, the will of the Collégium LMI is to want to build components “sustainably” and “socially responsible”. This approach is declined around several axes such as the awareness of the staff but also through the promotion of the committed student.

What is the Responsible Citizen Pathway?

The Responsible Citizen (or Committed Student) Course offered to students aims to raise their awareness and give them keys to consider their professional life by taking into consideration the social responsibility of companies and organisations. An asset that is increasingly sought after by employers and that they will be able to highlight to stand out. It is becoming essential for higher education institutions to answer this call of youth to taking into account the environmental and societal impact of our activities. That’s why the LMI Collegium with all its components is committed to this approach and continues to question and improve its practices, in particular by regularly engaging with its stakeholders and forging links with organisations and networks that work in this direction.
